Common Questions
Not sure where to start? Here's what patients ask us most before booking their first discovery call.
How Is Cash-Based PT Different From Insurance-Based PT?
Cash-based PT means every session is one-on-one with your provider, no aides, no double-booking, no rushed visits. Because we are not constrained by insurance requirements, your plan of care is built entirely around your goals and what your body actually needs, not what a payer will approve.
Can I Use My HSA or FSA to Pay for Sessions?
Yes. We accept HSA and FSA cards, as well as cash and installment plans. We can also provide superbills, which you can submit to your insurance carrier for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is between you and your insurer, we do not guarantee any specific coverage outcome.
How Do I Know Which Service Is Right for Me?
Start with a free discovery call. We will ask about your situation, what is limiting you, what you have already tried, and what your goals are and point you toward the right service, whether that is general PT, running-specific care, or our return-to-sport programming.
How Long Does a Typical Session Last?
Sessions at Lakás PT run 60 to 75 minutes. That full block of time is one-on-one with your provider not split between other patients. We use it for hands-on treatment, therapeutic exercise, and a debrief so you always understand what is happening and why.
Do I Need a Doctor's Referral to Get Started?
In California, you can access physical therapy directly without a physician referral this is called direct access. You are welcome to book a discovery call and schedule an evaluation without waiting for a referral. If your situation requires one, we are happy to help coordinate.
